Modesto now has over 100 ALPR cameras. Americans should not be under mass surveillance. Capturing so much data that police (or any bad actor) can completely retrace someone’s activity is a violation of our Fourth Amendment rights.
For this protest we will stand under the ALRP cameras with signs pointing them out to passing vehicle and pedestrian traffic. This action will last the week of August 16-22 and is part of deflock’s National Week of Action Against ALPRs.
Take this action on your own, at the closest ALRPs to your home/work. If we all do this then we should have a good representation throughout the week, throughout the city.
